terms of service
last updated: 1 august 2026
these terms govern your use of blank, the autonomous ai trading advisor published by certified random. by creating an account, downloading, or using blank you agree to these terms in full. if you do not agree, do not use the software.
definitions
throughout these terms, the following definitions apply:
- blank: the full software product published by certified random, including the desktop application, the mobile app, and the web dashboard.
- trading advisor (also referred to as "the advisor" or "the agent"): the ai-powered software component within blank that autonomously analyses financial markets, news, and other data sources to generate trading decisions and, when connected to a live broker in live trading mode, places buy and sell orders on your behalf without requiring approval for each individual trade. the trading advisor is a software process. it is not a human financial advisor, does not provide personalised investment advice, and is not regulated as a financial adviser by the fca, sec, or any other regulator.
- practice mode: a simulation environment within blank that uses virtual funds. no real orders are placed in practice mode and no real capital is at risk.
- live trading mode: a configuration of blank where the trading advisor is connected to a real brokerage account and may place real buy and sell orders using your actual funds.
1. who we are
certified random is the publisher of blank. you can reach us at legal@useblank.ai.
2. your licence
subject to these terms, certified random grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use blank on a device that you own or control, for your own personal use.
broker requirement. blank places its trades through trading 212. using blank in either practice mode or live trading mode requires a valid trading 212 account and api key. without those, the trading advisor cannot connect to a brokerage and the live-trading and practice-trading features will not function. you are responsible for keeping your trading 212 account in good standing and for any fees, taxes, or charges trading 212 imposes on you directly.
3. what you may not do
- copy, modify, adapt, or create derivative works of blank
- reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code
- sublicence, sell, rent, lease, or lend blank to any third party
- share your account credentials with others
- use blank for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable law
- use blank to place trades you are not legally permitted to make
- attempt to circumvent any technical protection or licence enforcement mechanism
4. risk disclosure
blank is an autonomous trading application. when connected to a live trading 212 account, it places real buy and sell orders using your funds without requiring your approval for each trade.
trading financial instruments carries significant risk, including:
- loss of some or all of your invested capital
- rapid and unexpected changes in market value
- technical failures that may result in unintended orders or missed trades
- decisions made by your blank advisor that may not suit your financial situation or risk tolerance
- broker outages or connectivity problems that affect order execution
you should only trade with money you can afford to lose entirely. the practice-trading simulator uses virtual money and carries no real financial risk; live trading uses real funds and does. past performance of the practice-trading mode is not indicative of future live-trading results.
5. no investment advice
blank is a software tool for informational and educational purposes only. nothing the software does, outputs, or recommends constitutes investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument. certified random is not authorised or regulated by the financial conduct authority (FCA), the securities and exchange commission (SEC), or any other financial regulator.
you are solely responsible for all investment and trading decisions you make using blank. before trading with real money, you should consider seeking independent financial advice.
6. account
you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. notify us immediately at security@useblank.ai if you believe your account has been compromised. we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that show signs of misuse.
7. plans, fees, and commission
plan fees. blank is one product with two ways to pay. either way you get the full advisor, practice mode, and unlimited chat and research, all only while access is active. there is no free live trading and no free practice. dev and staff accounts are exempt from all fees.
pay as you go. a one-off charge of £10 buys a 7-day trading week. trading weeks are one-off purchases: they never auto-renew, and if you buy more than one they stack end to end. when your purchased days run out, access stops at the end of that trading day unless you buy again or subscribe.
monthly subscription. the monthly fee is £35, charged in full at the moment of purchase, and covers the 30 days rolling from that purchase (not a calendar month; there is no anchoring to a billing date). it then auto-renews every 30 days, with each renewal again charged in full, until you cancel. there is no proration: partway-through upgrades, downgrades, or cancellations do not generate partial charges or partial refunds.
cancelling. you can cancel the monthly subscription at any time from the dashboard. cancelling stops future renewals; you keep the days you have already paid for, access runs to the end of the final paid trading day, and no refund is issued for the unused remainder of a charged period, except where consumer law requires otherwise.
commission. blank charges a flat 5% commission on realised profits from live trading, the same for everyone. commission is calculated for each calendar month, only on profits realised in that month, and only when the month is net positive. if your live trading is flat or in drawdown for a calendar month, no commission is charged for that month. losing months are not carried forward against future winning months. commission is separate from, and in addition to, the plan fees above.
when commission is charged. commission for a calendar month is charged on the last friday of that month, after market close, as a one-off charge against the card on file, separate from the plan subscription. the breakdown for each charge is available in the billing section of your dashboard.
card on file required. a valid payment card must be kept on file to use blank. payments are processed by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card number.
payment failure: soft lockout. if a plan-fee or commission charge fails (declined card, expired card, insufficient funds), your trading advisor is paused until you update your payment method from the dashboard. you keep read-only access to your account, journal, and historical data while paused. there are no daily late fees, no debt collection, and no compounding penalties. you simply can't run new live trades until the card is fixed. once a successful charge is taken, your advisor resumes immediately.
where blank runs. the trading advisor runs on the device you install it on (your own computer) while the app is open, connected to your own trading 212 account. it is not hosted or operated by us on your behalf.
8. third-party services
blank connects to third-party services including trading 212, market data providers, and news feeds. your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. we are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of any third-party service.
9. no warranty
blank is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. we do not warrant that blank will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate, or that it will produce profitable trading results. we expressly disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. limitation of liability
to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, certified random and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of blank, including but not limited to:
- trading losses or missed trading opportunities
- broker errors, order failures, or execution delays
- data loss, software bugs, or crashes
- service downtime or interruptions
in any case, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to blank shall not exceed the total fees (subscription and commission) you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. data and privacy
your use of blank is also governed by our privacy policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference and explains what we collect and how we use it.
12. updates to blank and these terms
we may update blank at any time and may push updates automatically. we may also update these terms from time to time. the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. if we make material changes we will post a notice in the in-app update log. continued use of blank after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
13. termination
we may suspend or terminate your licence at any time if you breach these terms. you may stop using blank at any time by deleting it from your computer. on termination, all rights granted to you under these terms immediately cease. sections 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 14, and 15 survive termination.
any outstanding commission for the current calendar month becomes immediately due on account closure and is charged to the payment method on file. account credit cannot be applied to closing balances. if the closing charge fails, account deletion is blocked until your card is updated and the charge clears, and the soft lockout described in section 7 applies.
14. governing law
these terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of england and wales. any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of england and wales.
